Security Officer

Job Summary:
The Security Officer is a vital member of our team, responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our guests and employees. This role requires a high level of professionalism, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Attend daily briefings and meetings to stay informed about security protocols and procedures.
- Ensure the smooth operation of the Security Department by following established policies and procedures.
- Respond to non-routine incidents in a timely and professional manner.
- Perform currency transports in accordance with casino procedures.
- Maintain a professional appearance and communicate effectively with colleagues and guests.
- Ensure quick, fair, and consistent results to customer complaints.
- Safeguard property assets and maintain confidentiality.
- May be responsible for administering CPR in First Aid situations.
- Adhere to all aspects of the Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Program and its regulations.
- Ensure the integrity of gambling, banking, count room, and cash handling procedures.
- Responsible for proper handling of confidential information, reports, incidents, and materials.
- Communicate within the department to ensure information is shared with colleagues.
- Inform security senior management team of information necessary to the efficient operation of the casino.
- Deliver exceptional customer service and live the company core values.
- Perform other duties as assigned by department and/or company management.
Working Conditions:
The Security Officer must be able to:
- Regularly walk and work on feet to complete assigned shifts.
- Talk and hear.
- Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Interpret a variety of technical and mathematical formulas.
- Interpret and follow through on a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Effectively communicate with all levels of team members and outside contacts.
- Resolve problems and conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.
- Demonstrate leadership and fairness in dealing with guests and team members.
- Be flexible to work all shifts, including holidays, nights, weekend hours, and overtime as business needs dictate.
- Be physically mobile with reasonable accommodations, including the ability to push, pull, carry, and lift up to 25 lbs.
Job Qualifications:
The Security Officer must have:
- A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Formal security or law enforcement training, schooling, or certification.
- Related on-the-job experience may be considered in lieu of formal training.
- Ability to read, analyze, interpret, and comprehend technical procedures, government regulations, instructions, and correspondence/memos.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers or staff, guests, and the general public.
- Maintain confidential information.
Compliance Responsibilities:
The Security Officer has the following compliance responsibilities:
- Attend required training sessions offered by the casino.
- Provide a current certificate of completion of the New York State Division of Criminal Justice (DCJS) 8-Hour Pre-Assignment Training.
- Perform duties in compliance with local laws and regulations.
- Take necessary steps to ensure minors are not allowed to gamble or loiter in gambling areas, drink alcoholic beverages, or purchase tobacco.
- Have knowledge of the ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures relating to the team member's department.
- Have knowledge of the Property's programs to address problem gambling.
- Consult with the appropriate individuals and maintain an effective system of written policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with state regulations and Systems of Internal Controls.
- Take the appropriate steps to investigate exceptions, fraud, and potential violations and report such instances to the appropriate levels of management.
- Report any acts of wrongdoing on behalf of any staff member that they have knowledge of.
