  • Manage the accounts payable and receivable functions for the city.
  • Prepare monthly financial reports for the City Council, issue petty cash vouchers, and handle miscellaneous billing tasks.
  • Support the executive board with various administrative responsibilities.
  • Assist in the preparation of Fund income statements and trial balances.
  • Contribute to month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Safeguard the city's financial integrity by maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Excel is essential, as the role requires the creation of spreadsheets and use of word processing software.
  • Familiarity with the city's operational methods, procedures, and policies relevant to this position.
  • Strong planning, organizational, multitasking, and analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with colleagues and the public.
  • Ability to operate and maintain various office equipment for report preparation and record-keeping.
  • Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a municipal finance team.
  • Capacity to work under pressure, respond calmly in emergencies, and assist colleagues as needed.
  • Willingness to learn and apply new skills to enhance job performance and efficiency.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize daily tasks and responsibilities.
