Pipefitting Instructor

We are seeking a highly skilled Pipefitting Instructor to join our team at General Dynamics Electric Boat. As a Pipefitting Instructor, you will be responsible for teaching pipefitting-related courses to students.

• Instruct multiple courses in pipefitting-related topics, including fall protection, respirator, tank watch, and other general training courses.
• Direct and assess hands-on training with mockups and related exercises.
• Enforce safety rules and regulations in training and during deck plate audits.
• Assess student performance and identify nonconformance to policies, procedures, and technical documents.
• Support various course content reviews and related activities.
• Conduct assessments as scheduled.
• Meet with HR Business Partners regarding student performance as needed.
• Consistently grade tests and quizzes to ensure knowledge capture and understanding of training topics.
• Communicate with other Training shifts to advance work and communicate issues.
• Support special training projects as required.

• Possess a High school diploma (minimum).
• Have a minimum of 2 years of pipefitting experience.
• Have a minimum of 2 years of Electric Boat experience.
• Must be able to climb a ladder and don a Safety Harness as required.
• Must be able to travel throughout the facility to facilitate training as required.

• Prior experience teaching.
• Nuclear trade experience.
• Associates Degree.
