About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Cardiovascular Invasive Laboratory Specialist III to join our team at AdventHealth New Smyrna Beach. As a member of our cardiovascular services department, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a wide range of technical skills during Interventional Cardiovascular, Non-ablation Electrophysiology, or Interventional Radiology procedures to provide an efficient, comfortable, and safe examination of all patients.
  • Be proficient in all aspects of angiography, preparation, assessment, documentation, and monitoring consistent with the policies, procedures, and processes of the Cardiovascular Services department and Hospital Administration.
  • Adhere to the guidelines and standards of professional practice associations and actively participate in outstanding customer service.
  • Follow CDC isolation guidelines, appropriately use PPE, and perform hand hygiene according to accepted standards of care.
  • Identify and prepare patients using aseptic technique as dictated by procedure ordered and exhibit awareness of hazards which may endanger patients.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory standards and enforce safety regulations.
  • Annually meet all required department-specific competencies.
  • Verify orders and facilitate implementation, communicating with physicians as needed.
  • Perform treatments and administer medications according to policy and training.
  • Function appropriately in clinical emergencies and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and medications.
  • Perform within the bounds of the applicable scope of practice for Cardiovascular Invasive Lab Technologists.
  • Facilitate timely patient throughput.
  • Produce an accurately written, promptly completed medical record for each patient based on the scope and complexity of the intervention procedure and patient clinical conditions.
  • Maintain authenticity and security of the record and follow prescribed processes for amending documents.
  • Perform effectively in all three procedural roles (circulate, monitor, scrub) required in a therapeutic cardiac laboratory team based on the Society of Invasive Cardiovascular Professionals Scope of Practice.
  • Takes call as rotated/assigned and responds (in hospital) per policy.
  • Proficiently perform coronary diagnostic and interventional procedures, non-ablation electrophysiology interventional procedures, and peripheral diagnostic and interventional procedures.
  • Learns and upgrades skills and utilizes knowledge base to assist with orientation, training, and education of new personnel.
  • Provides training for procedures within their competency.
  • May perform waived and/or non-waived Point of Care Testing.
Requirements
  • Associate's Degree.
  • Cardiovascular, Interventional Radiology, Peripheral, or Electrophysiology Lab experience preferred.
  • Paramedic experience preferred.
