Position Summary:

The Cardiovascular Invasive Laboratory Specialist III (CILS III) is responsible for a diverse array of technical skills applied during various Interventional Cardiovascular, Non-ablation Electrophysiology, or Interventional Radiology procedures. This role ensures efficient, comfortable, and safe examinations for all patients. The CILS III demonstrates proficiency in angiography, preparation, assessment, documentation, and monitoring, adhering to the policies and procedures of the Cardiovascular Services department and Hospital Administration. Compliance with professional practice standards is essential, as is a commitment to outstanding customer service and respectful relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to CDC isolation protocols, utilize PPE appropriately, and maintain hand hygiene standards. Prepare patients using aseptic techniques and ensure safety regulations are followed.
  • Verify orders and facilitate implementation, maintaining communication with physicians as necessary. Administer treatments and medications in accordance with established policies and training.
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical records for each patient, ensuring authenticity and security of documentation.
  • Effectively perform all procedural roles (circulate, monitor, scrub) in a therapeutic cardiac laboratory setting, taking call as assigned.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in performing coronary diagnostic and interventional procedures, as well as non-ablation electrophysiology and peripheral procedures.

Qualifications:

Essential Expertise:

  • Associate's Degree in Cardiovascular Technology, Nursing, Radiologic Technology, or Respiratory Therapy.
  • BLS certification required.
  • ACLS certification required.

Must hold and maintain a valid license in one of the following:

  • State of Florida or Multistate Registered Nurse License
  • Radiologic Technologist [R.T.(R)]
  • Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
  • Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS)
  • Registered Cardiovascular Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES)
