Position Overview

Position Title: Nutrition Educator

Program: Nutrition Education Program

Classification: Non-Exempt/Full Time

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The following outlines the essential functions and responsibilities necessary for this role. Specific duties may be adjusted based on organizational needs.

  • Deliver nutrition education utilizing research-backed resources and curricula.
  • Evaluate and modify educational materials to ensure they meet the diverse needs of the audience.
  • Establish and nurture partnerships within the community to promote policy and environmental strategies that encourage healthy nutrition and physical activity.
  • Organize, procure, and prepare food tastings for educational sessions as required.
  • Conduct assessments, document program outcomes, and accurately maintain data for participants and stakeholders.
  • Provide necessary follow-up sessions and materials to all participants in the Nutrition Education Program.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, community partners, school personnel, and administrators.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to the mission of the organization and adhere to its core values.
  • Perform additional job-related tasks as assigned by the NEP Manager.
  • Possess the ability to work remotely as needed.
  • Lead cooking demonstrations and classes.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma with two years of relevant experience in social services, health services (with a focus on nutrition), or community nutrition.
  • OR
  • Bachelor of Science (B.S.) Degree in nutrition science, dietetics, or nursing.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is highly preferred.
