Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) is dedicated to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. As a Physician Assistant on our Inpatient Endocrine team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being of our young patients.



The Division of Endocrinology and Diabetes at CHOP is one of the largest pediatric endocrinology and diabetes centers in the nation. Our team of experts works with patients in the Philadelphia region and from around the world.



As a Front Line Ordering Clinician (FLOC) Physician Assistant, you will be responsible for the direct care and follow-up of a population of patients that matches your scope of practice and skill set. This care will be delivered in defined inpatient and hospital-outpatient areas.



Key Responsibilities:




  • Assessing the complex acute, critical, and chronically ill patient for urgent and emergent conditions.
  • Performing therapeutic interventions to stabilize acute and critical health problems.
  • Managing the plan of care through evaluation, modification, and documentation according to the patient's response to therapy.
  • Incorporating health promotion, health protection, and injury prevention measures into the plan of care.
  • Facilitating the patient's transitions between and within healthcare settings.
  • Serving as an educational resource to the patient/family, nursing staff, and provider team.
  • Participating in scholarly activities, including research and education.
  • Participating in own professional development by maintaining required competencies, identifying learning needs, and seeking appropriate educational offerings.
  • Participating in the professional development of others.
  • Demonstrating a commitment to patient safety by speaking up about safety issues and changing practice to enhance safety.


Requirements:




  • Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) (Pennsylvania) - Pennsylvania State Licensing Board - upon hire - Required.
  • Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) (New Jersey) - New Jersey State Licensing Board - upon hire - Required.
  • Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) - National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants - upon hire - Required.
