Job Summary

As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures, providing exceptional patient care, and maintaining a safe and efficient working environment.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and sterilize operating rooms, equipment, and instruments for surgical procedures.
  • Stock and maintain adequate supplies for surgery, including medical instruments and equipment.
  • Prepare patients for surgery by washing and disinfecting incision sites, and providing support during surgery by passing instruments and supplies.
  • Track and manage surgical supplies, ensuring that all necessary equipment and instruments are available and in good working condition.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest surgical technology, medical terminology, and procedures, and maintain a high level of knowledge and skills in these areas.
  • Work effectively with surgeons, surgical assistants, nurses, and other members of the surgical team to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Provide exceptional patient care, demonstrating a commitment to delivering high-quality care and service to patients and their families.
Requirements
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification
  • National Institutes of Health (NIH) Certification
  • Certified Principal Investigator (CPI) Certification
  • Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology
  • The ability to stand for extended periods
  • Strong technical skills
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Passionate about patient care
  • Requires a minimum of two years of CVOR Certified Surgical Tech experience
  • Graduate from a fully accredited Certified CVOR Surgical Tech program
  • Active unencumbered CVOR Surgical Tech Indiana state license

  • Participates in relevant continuing education programs
  • Knowledge of and dedication to the highest patient care and provide the utmost service excellence to all patients
  • Ability to take initiative and to exercise independent judgment, decision-making and problem-solving expertise
  • A can-do, team-oriented attitude is essential, as the ability to work independently and to interact easily with physicians, other managers and staff throughout the department and hospital
  • Effective interpersonal/communication, organizational, and the flexibility to handle multiple tasks
