Manufacturing Process Specialist

Job Summary

This role involves conducting design reviews, creating simple mechanical designs, and providing technical support. The successful candidate will also plan and design product applications, manage complex activities, and oversee the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of engineering projects within a tier-one automotive supplier machining manufacturing facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods to optimize efficiency and quality.
  • Estimate production times, staffing needs, and associated costs to ensure accurate planning and budgeting.
  • Transition products from development to mass production, ensuring seamless execution and minimal disruptions.
  • Assist in reviewing contractor plans, including setting goals, objectives, schedules, and timelines to ensure alignment with company objectives.
  • Oversee budgeting and provide technical direction and support to ensure successful project execution.
  • Serve as a business liaison and attend briefings with senior management, assisting with problem resolution and ensuring effective communication.
  • Design and test electronic products, writing test procedures to ensure quality and reliability.
  • Conduct product/process analysis to drive cost reduction, improve quality, and enhance efficiency.
  • Develop and test tools, machinery, and equipment for optimized manufacturing methods.
  • Participate in shift meetings and perform 5S duties to maintain a safe and organized work environment.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by management.
Requirements
  • B.S. degree preferred in Engineering, or Associate degree in electrical or mechanical engineering with a minimum of four (4) years of experience/training.
  • Strong technical knowledge of manufacturing processes and methods, including machining, hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical skills.
  • Proficiency in lean manufacturing techniques and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to effectively use computers and other job-related equipment, including PLC and CNC.
Work Environment

This role is primarily office-based with frequent interaction on the plant floor. The successful candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
