S&ME is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Construction Materials Laboratory Technician to join our Construction Services team. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in testing and analyzing construction materials, ensuring accurate and thorough reporting of test results, and maintaining laboratory equipment.
About the Role:
- Testing and Reporting: Conduct and document tests on various construction materials with precision and attention to detail, ensuring test results are logical, complete, and ready for review.
- Equipment Maintenance: Ensure all laboratory equipment is well-maintained and properly calibrated, contributing to the efficiency and accuracy of our testing processes.
About You:
- You have a High School diploma/GED and 0-2 years of experience in a construction materials laboratory.
- You possess effective math skills with a basic understanding of weight, volume, pressure, and units of measure.
- You have effective communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing) using the English language.
- You can proficiently complete data entry into multiple software applications on a smart device, using Microsoft Office and email.
- You have one(1) or more active certifications, a plus: American Concrete Institute (ACI), International Code Council (ICC), or DOT Certifications.
Requirements:
- Perform the physical demands of the position with the use of company-provided Personal Protective Equipment.
- Work outdoors in varying weather conditions outside normal business hours, as needed.
- Stand up to 8 hours a day, up to 12 hours on occasion.
- Walk over rough and uneven terrain, maneuvering field equipment safely.
- Routinely lift and carry 40-50lbs, (field/laboratory samples and equipment).
- Travel out-of-town and possibly overnight for assignments as needed.
