Position Summary:


We are in search of a mission-driven Store Operations Leader to become a vital part of our growing team and serve as a key representative of our brand.

In this capacity, you will be tasked with nurturing a supportive environment that promotes teamwork within the store, ensuring an unwavering dedication to operational excellence.

The Store Operations Leader will enhance the capabilities of the team to deliver the 'Smoothie King Experience' for both team members and customers, formulating effective strategies to drive positive results while balancing other corporate objectives, with a focus on strategic, operational, and leadership excellence.



Key Responsibilities:


Team Management:
Oversee the comprehensive management of the team, including recruitment, onboarding, and scheduling.


Develop and execute a consistent strategy for attracting, sourcing, and integrating team members who resonate with our mission and possess a passion for service.

Guide and facilitate the orientation process to ensure a smooth start for new team members.

Organize and plan shifts to meet the needs of both team members and customers.

Clearly delegate tasks to ensure the effective operation of your store.

Training and Development:
Equip team members with the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to achieve excellence.


Ensure team members are well-prepared for success by strategically scheduling, communicating, and conducting training sessions to minimize disruption to the customer experience.

Identify knowledge and skill gaps in new team members and tailor training programs for ongoing improvement in those areas.

Support team member career advancement by recognizing potential career paths, providing mentorship, and facilitating internal mobility.

Ensure the store has a certified trainer to lead training for new team members.

Operational Excellence and Continuous Improvement:
Utilize appropriate systems to consistently deliver the Smoothie King Experience and provide guidance for ongoing enhancement.


Employ operational tools such as P&L statements, daily checklists, cash & deposit logs, and inventory management tools to achieve operational excellence.

Ensure adherence to food safety standards, store appearance, and cleanliness in alignment with Smoothie King brand expectations.

Share key information on the daily plan so Team Captains can effectively manage shifts.

Oversee cash activities for the store and verify and reconcile cash and time logs for accuracy and coaching opportunities.

Sales and Inventory Management:
Ensure optimal product placement and quantities to drive sales growth while minimizing waste.

Assess store environment and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to identify issues, concerns, and opportunities for improvement and adjust strategies accordingly.

Develop local marketing initiatives to support brand objectives, including community outreach through marketing and special events.

Establish a weekly inventory plan and maintain inventory flow using point-of-use, front stock, back stock, and replenishment signals.


Ensure the store is set and maintained to expectations and adjusted appropriately to meet specific needs using pars and plan-o-grams.


Culture and Team Engagement:
Foster a positive workplace atmosphere, encourage open communication, and promote team member involvement in decision-making processes.

Lead the team by establishing clear performance expectations, providing regular feedback and coaching, and conducting performance reviews.


Recognize and celebrate individual and team achievements using existing recognition tools and programs, while also exploring new and innovative methods of acknowledgment.


Own, advocate for, and drive the implementation of company guidelines through action planning and inspire the team to meet standards in alignment with our brand vision.

Encourage cross-departmental collaboration initiatives to streamline processes and enhance communication.

Qualifications:
Supervisory

Responsibilities:

Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains individual contributor level staff in the department.

Oversees the daily workflow of the team.

Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.

Handles discipline and termination of team members in accordance with company policy.

Work Environment:
This role involves frequent exposure to high temperatures and extreme cold.

There is regular contact/immersion of hands in water and sanitation solutions; and interaction with produce items, dairy products, and frequent allergen-related items such as nuts, citrus, peanut butter, cinnamon, etc.

Requires working under stressful conditions or irregular hours.


Must be prepared to work a minimum of 45 hours per week, ensuring effective store operation, with expectations to accommodate a mix of daytime and nighttime shifts, as well as at least one weekend per month.

This may also involve working during holidays or special events.

Must be able to work safely in a noisy environment.

Requires maintenance of a store office space. Meetings may occasionally be conducted remotely with frequent video conferences.

Physical Requirements:
Must be physically capable of auditing/inspecting store locations, including walking properties, bending, stretching, squatting, and kneeling.

Must be able to stand for periods of up to eight (8) hours.

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time. Assistance should be utilized when available, such as hand trucks, ramps, or other team members.

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Travel Required:
Less than 10% of travel required.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Position Requirements:
High school diploma required. An associate or bachelor's degree in business, hospitality management, or a related field is preferred.


Minimum 2 years' experience as a manager or supervisor of a team in a restaurant or similar type of retail customer service business.

Valid driver's license and ability to provide proof of adequate car insurance.

Basic computer knowledge (Microsoft Word, Excel, and general POS functionality).

Experience with OSHA, EEOC, and other federal and state laws and local statutes.

ServSafe Certification.

A personal passion for health and fitness is a plus.
