Position Overview: The Energy Operations Technician is responsible for the operational integrity and maintenance of condensate return systems within designated facilities. This role encompasses regular monitoring, minor repairs, and effective communication with stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine inspections of condensate equipment, ensuring accurate documentation of operational metrics and necessary adjustments to controls.
  • Supervise the functionality of condensate return systems across various facilities.
  • Diagnose and swiftly resolve operational challenges to enhance equipment reliability and overall system efficiency.
  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of the Utility Service Agreement, ensuring compliance with customer obligations regarding condensate return.
  • Execute minor repairs related to electrical, mechanical, and instrumentation components.
  • Perform sampling and testing of condensate within the systems.
  • Support operational procedures during equipment shutdowns and startups, adhering to safety protocols.
  • Maintain equipment cleanliness and operational readiness.
  • Assist in the creation and revision of standard operating procedures.
  • Provide operational support for overhead distribution piping systems.
  • Fulfill additional responsibilities such as record keeping and inspections as required.
  • Adhere strictly to safety regulations and protocols.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED with a minimum of four years of experience in steam plant operations or maintenance, specifically in steam distribution and condensate return systems.
  • Proven troubleshooting skills, both conceptual and practical.
  • Strong communication abilities.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Mechanical aptitude and skills.
  • Capability to interpret blueprints or CAD drawings.
  • Familiarity with procedures, work instructions, and safety/environmental regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Willingness to learn and master various industrial software applications within a short timeframe.

Work Environment:

  • Work may occur in extreme weather conditions, including high and low temperatures.
  • Travel between facilities is required, with work conducted in environments with moderate noise levels. Appropriate safety gear must be worn at all times.

Physical Requirements:

  • Incumbents may need to bend, walk, or carry equipment during job duties. Lifting and moving up to 50 pounds may be necessary.
  • A valid driver's license is required, along with the ability to use a vehicle for travel between facilities.
