Job Summary

Vorst Paving is seeking a skilled Ground Worker to join our team. As a Ground Worker, you will be responsible for preparing, paving, and cleaning railroad crossings to meet our high-quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Arrive on time and be ready to work, wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) and steel-toed boots.
  • Maintain equipment cleanliness and help with unloading and loading.
  • Replace and anchor rubbers, and assist with paving crossings to meet Vorst Paving's quality standards.
  • Operate small equipment, clean crossings, flanges, and roads, and maintain a safe work environment.
  • Communicate with the crew and foreman, and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, or relevant work experience.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel up to 100% of the time.
  • Ability to pass required tests, random screenings, and training, including DOT physicals and FRA regulations.

Work Environment

Work will be performed outdoors, with occasional exposure to wet and humid conditions, hot temperatures, and loud machinery.
