Job Summary:

Metropolitan Family Services is seeking a part-time Residential Monitor to join our CILA Team. As a Residential Monitor, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with disabilities in their daily lives, promoting independence, and enhancing their overall well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Building Maintenance: Report maintenance needs to landlords and/or real estate agencies, ensuring a safe and comfortable living environment for our clients.
  • Quarterly Inspections: Conduct regular apartment inspections to identify any issues or concerns, and work with landlords to address them promptly.
  • Client Support: Assist clients with meal planning, preparation, housekeeping, and personal grooming, promoting their independence and self-sufficiency.
  • Community Engagement: Engage clients in social activities, arts and crafts, cooking, music, hygiene, life skills, and other community support groups, fostering a sense of community and connection.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Document client incidents and report any issues or concerns to your supervisor, ensuring accurate and timely communication.
  • On-Call and Coverage: Be available on-call for emergency situations and provide coverage for other Residential Monitors as needed due to sick leave or vacations.
  • Physical Support: Assist clients with heavy lifting and other physical activities, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Training and Development: Provide training and guidance to new staff members, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

Requirements:

  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: Three (3) years of related work experience required.
  • Availability: Must have flexible availability for shifts 3pm-11pm and 11pm-7am on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays on an as-needed basis.
  • Availability: Must be available to work at least three shifts per month.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Good interpersonal skills required.
  • Client Interaction: Ability to work well with physically and/or mentally disabled individuals.
  • Diversity and Inclusion: Ability to work effectively with diverse individuals and groups.
  • Driver's License: Must have a valid IL driver's license and vehicle insurance.
  • Transportation: Must be willing to drive clients in personal vehicle to appointments or grocery store as needed.
