Job Title: Information Systems Technician I

Join the Illinois Secretary of State team as an Information Systems Technician I, responsible for providing technical support and administrative work for large-scale networks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install, evaluate, and maintain physical configuration of hardware and software for large-scale networks.
  • Perform technical duties in the installation and maintenance of hardware and software configurations.
  • Assist with coordinating large-scale network modifications and enhancements.
  • Work with Cyber and Information security teams to remediate vulnerabilities on end-point devices.
  • Support the use of SCCM and Intune systems to deploy changes when needed.
  • Ensure both applications and operating systems are patched to correct levels.
  • Diagnose issues with deployments or installations.
  • Improve enterprise processes to ensure environments are up-to-date and secure.
Requirements:
  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of one year of college, with coursework in the computer science field or 1.5 years of technical systems and programming experience.
  • Requires elementary knowledge of Information Technology concepts and principles, the theories and functions of computer systems, and the principles and techniques of Information Technology documentation.
  • Requires ability to effectively participate in and profit from formal and in-service training programs.
  • Requires ability to analyze data logically.
  • Requires ability to maintain satisfactory working relationships with others.
  • Requires sufficient oral and written communication skills for effective engagement with colleagues and internal users/customers.
