About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic MRI Technologist to join our team at Mount Sinai Health System. As a Diagnostic MRI Technologist, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic MRI scanning procedures with knowledge of all pertinent technical and academic areas to produce consistent high-quality examinations.

Responsibilities
  • Perform all required diagnostic MRI scanning procedures through proper positioning and technique, consistently demonstrating good judgment in evaluating the diagnostic studies.
  • Screen patients before exams for any precautions or contraindications pertaining to the examination.
  • Obtain and review requisitions for examinations to obtain information such as procedure requested, clinical history, patient condition, or any other special requirements.
  • Thoroughly explain procedures to be performed to alleviate patient anxiety and facilitate patient cooperation.
  • Monitor the condition of any patient within the department and assist the radiologist in performing needed medical attention, if applicable.
  • Comply with Hospital operational and safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintain the MRI scanning equipment in good operating order.
  • Clean and disinfect equipment and area after each use.
  • Maintain work areas in an orderly manner.
  • Check to ensure emergency equipment is in good working order.
  • Report any hazardous conditions or equipment breakdowns to responsible supervisors.
  • Assist radiologists during the administration of contrast media and practice medical and surgical aseptic procedures as required.
  • Recognize allergic reactions and respond in accordance with hospital policies and procedures for emergent patient care.
  • Assist with patient scheduling and patient preparation required prior to examination.
  • Conduct examinations with regard to patients' ages, conditions, or other special requirements.
