Job Description

We are seeking a skilled AI Vision Scientist to join our LLM Research team at Meta. As a researcher in this role, you will be responsible for pushing forward the state of the art in multimodal reasoning and generation research.

The ideal candidate will have experience in areas like vision encoders, data filtering/curation for pre and post-training, RLHF, responsible AI, and model controllability. You should be able to design experimental details, write reusable code, run evaluations, and organize results.

In this role, you will work towards long-term ambitious research goals while identifying intermediate milestones. You will also contribute to publications and open-sourcing efforts, as well as mentor other team members.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and execute on research that pushes forward the state of the art in multimodal reasoning and generation research.
  • Work towards long-term ambitious research goals, while identifying intermediate milestones.
  • Directly contribute to experiments, including designing experimental details, writing reusable code, running evaluations, and organizing results.
  • Prioritize research that can be applied to Meta's product development.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
  • 3+ year experience in AI.
  • Publications in machine learning, computer vision, NLP, or audio.
  • Experience writing software and executing complex experiments involving large AI models and datasets.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Direct experience in generative AI and LLM research.
  • First author publications experience at peer-reviewed AI conferences.
  • Fluent in Python and PyTorch.

Compensation

This position offers an estimated salary range of $147,000 - $208,000 per year, with bonus, equity, and benefits. Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
