The Staff Physician is a vital member of the Community Volunteers in Medicine (CVIM) medical team, responsible for providing high-quality primary care to patients through office visits, urgent visits, and phone triage. This role requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication, and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide Primary Care Services
    • Deliver comprehensive primary care to patients through scheduled visits, urgent visits, and phone triage
    • Manage patient records, lab and imaging results, and specialty consults to ensure continuity of care
    • Provide patient education on test results, consults, and follow-up care
  • Leadership and Collaboration
    • Serve as a medical resource to clinical staff and volunteers
    • Collaborate with the Medical Director on projects to improve workflow efficiency and health metrics
    • Supervise Advanced Practice Providers and RNs/MAs
  • Qualifications and Requirements
    • Board Certified/Board Eligible in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
    • Current license to practice medicine in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as authorized by the State Board of Medicine
    • Demonstrated qualities of leadership, maturity, and integrity
    • Experience with EMRs
    • Preferred recent or current experience with underserved populations
    • Preferred practice experience with certified registered nurse practitioners and physician assistants
    • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
