As a Diagnostic Imaging Specialist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services to patients. Your expertise will be essential in helping physicians diagnose and treat a wide range of medical conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct diagnostic imaging procedures using computed tomography (CT) scanners to produce high-quality images for medical interpretation and treatment.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and radiation policies to protect patients, staff, and visitors.
  • Utilize proper radiation protective equipment and maintain radiation exposure levels as low as reasonably achievable (ALARA).
  • Demonstrate working knowledge to safely operate all CT scanners and troubleshoot technical problems.
  • Report equipment failure to management and maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs.
  • Position patients, set technical factors, and use algorithms for processing images to maintain national repeat ratios.
  • Produce routine and complex radiographic CT images without direct supervision.
  • Assist physicians in obtaining images needed to produce diagnostic results.
  • Interpret physician orders, acquire clinical information, and document exams in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate with patient floors, other departments, transport, and physician offices to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Adapt to changing workloads and environments to minimize patient waiting times and report turnaround times.
  • Apply sterile techniques and knowledge of the hospital information system (HIS) and picture archiving and communication system (PACS) to complete procedures and modify billing codes as necessary.
  • Check daily work lists, access previous exams, and schedule patients as required.
  • Provide patient comfort and satisfaction by actively participating in patient satisfaction surveys and addressing patient complaints.
  • Perform daily equipment analysis to ensure proper working conditions and minimize downtime.
  • Provide teaching and technical guidance to new staff and students, including completing competency checklists and orienting new staff to facility and department policies and procedures.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Amer Registry Radiologic Tech (Required)
  • Radiologic Technologist (Required)
  • Certified Phlebotomy Technician (Required)
  • A minimum of one year hospital experience working as a CT Tech.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (Required)
  • BLS Certification within 6 months of hire.
  • Graduate of a two-year program in Radiologic Technology at an AMA and CAHEA approved school.
