Seeking a dedicated and passionate Community Outreach Program Coordinator to join our team at Girl Scouts of Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho (GSEWNI). As an Outreach Program Specialist, you will play a vital role in facilitating after-school troop meetings and delivering the magic of Girl Scouting to bilingual Outreach Girl Scout Troops in Pasco and Richland.

About Us

We are a non-profit organization committed to empowering girls through the Girl Scout four pillars: life skills, STEM, outdoors, and entrepreneurship. Our mission is to serve around 5,000 girls from kindergarten to 12th grade, with the help of 2,000 amazing adult volunteers. We cover a massive area of 29 counties, spanning from Central and Eastern Washington to Northern Idaho.

Our headquarters is in Spokane, Washington, but we have staff in the Tri-Cities, Washington, and Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. We're on a mission to create a world where every girl has the opportunity to be a Girl Scout, regardless of their background or circumstances.

Job Summary

This is a part-time position, requiring flexibility and adaptability. You will work closely with the Outreach Program Coordinator to deliver the full Girl Scout experience to girls who may otherwise not have the opportunity to participate. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Facilitating after-school troop meetings and delivering engaging activities that cover all things STEM, outdoors, life skills, and entrepreneurship.
  • Incorporating Girl Scout principles into each meeting, allowing for girl-led, hands-on, cooperative learning while providing guidance and supervision as needed.
  • Modeling teamwork and problem-solving while creating opportunities for girls to apply strategies themselves.
  • Working seamlessly with co-leaders and other GSEWNI staff.
Requirements

To perform this job successfully, you must have:

  • Previous GSUSA experience, preferably.
  • Bilingual skills preferred.
  • Experience working in small and large group settings with children.
  • Reliable transportation required.
  • Available for evening work and occasional weekends.
  • Ability to travel to multiple locations within city limits.
  • Ability to lead activities through Zoom meetings, which may require facilitation of Zoom meetings while on site at Girl Scouts.
Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is $17.00-$18.50 per hour, depending on experience and bilingual skills. This is a grant-funded program breaking barriers to engage Latina Girls and ensure every girl has the opportunity to be a Girl Scout.
