Orlando Health is seeking an experienced registered nurse to join our Trauma and Burn Stepdown unit. As a key member of our team, you will provide high-quality patient care to critically ill patients, utilizing your advanced knowledge and skills to make a positive impact on patient outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Provide Complex Patient Care: Demonstrate critical knowledge, skills, and judgment to care for patients requiring complex assessment and therapies, high-intensity interventions, and high-level continuous nursing vigilance.
  • Utilize Assessment Data: Utilize information and assessment data to anticipate and respond with confidence and adapt to rapidly changing patient conditions.
  • Prioritize Patient Care: Identify and prioritize information to take immediate and decisive evidence-based, patient-focused action.
  • Monitor and Adjust Equipment: Monitor and adjust specialized equipment used on patients, and interpret and record electronic displays, such as intracranial pressures, central venous pressures, pulmonary artery pressures, and cardiac rhythms from cardiac monitors, respirators, ventilators, oxygen pumps, etc.
  • Respond to Life-Saving Situations: Respond to life-saving situations based on nursing standards and protocol.
  • Assess Patient Needs: Assess patient's needs and develop/revises an individualized plan of care based on patient needs and responses. Evaluate the patient's progress toward attaining expected outcomes.
  • Communicate Effectively: Communicate and collaborate with medical staff and interdisciplinary team to effectively plan and manage the unit/department.
  • Lead by Example: Serve as a role model for staff and supports the hospital and nursing department's goals and strategies.
  • Maintain Compliance: Maintain compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Education: Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
  • Licensure/Certification: Maintains current State of Florida RN license or valid eNLC multistate RN license.
  • Experience: High acuity progressive care or intermediate critical care experience required. Trauma or Burn Stepdown experience preferred.
