Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Nurse (LPN/RN) to join our team as a Behavioral Health Specialist. In this role, you will play a critical part in promoting a safe and therapeutic environment for our clients, providing exceptional care and support to help them achieve their recovery goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the clinical team with the admissions process, ensuring a smooth and efficient transition for new clients.
  • Administer medications, treatments, and procedures according to standard nursing practices and facility policies, prioritizing client safety and well-being.
  • Develop and implement individualized plans of care, working closely with physicians and nurse practitioners to ensure comprehensive and effective treatment.
  • Educate clients on potential side effects of medications, observing for any adverse reactions and taking prompt action to address concerns.
  • Monitor clients for signs of substance misuse-related withdrawal symptoms, providing timely interventions and support as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic health records (EHR), ensuring seamless communication and collaboration among team members.
  • Provide crisis management and support to clients experiencing intoxication or other challenging behaviors, prioritizing their safety and well-being.
  • Act as a positive ambassador for BriteLife Recovery, promoting our services and values to prospective clients and employees.
  • Maintain client confidentiality and adhere to all relevant laws and regulations, ensuring the highest standards of professionalism and integrity.
Requirements
  • Current RN license in good standing in New York.
  • Experience with documentation and data entry within an EHR, with a strong understanding of electronic health record systems.
  • Experience working with individuals struggling with substance use disorders, with a demonstrated ability to provide compassionate and effective care.
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency, with a strong understanding of software applications and technology.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, colleagues, and external partners.
  • Ability to assess client needs and develop individualized plans of care, prioritizing their safety and well-being.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data to inform nursing decisions and improve client outcomes.
  • Adherence to acceptable ethical and behavioral standards of conduct, with a strong commitment to professionalism and integrity.
