Nuvance Health is seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our Psych Unit team on a part-time basis. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide direct and indirect care to patients, working collaboratively with registered nurses and other healthcare professionals to ensure a safe and therapeutic environment.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in nursing principles and practices, with a focus on patient-centered care. You will be responsible for providing vital signs, wound care, medication administration, and patient observations, as well as collaborating with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.

Additional responsibilities will include verifying and preparing medication, performing diagnostic procedures such as EKGs and phlebotomy, and assisting with patient admissions. You will also be expected to maintain accurate and detailed records within our electronic medical record system.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct and indirect patient care, working collaboratively with the healthcare team
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans, in collaboration with the healthcare team
  • Verify and prepare medication, as well as perform diagnostic procedures
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records within our electronic medical record system

Requirements:

  • Current LPN licensure
  • Basic Life Support certification
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Working Conditions:

  • Significant manual skills and motor coordination required
  • Very heavy effort, with potential for up to 50 pounds of force
  • Some occupational risk, with potential exposure to dirt, odor, noise, and human waste
