Job Summary

The Project Engineer 2 will play a crucial role in the successful execution of construction projects at JE Dunn Construction. This position requires a strong understanding of construction fundamentals, company best practices, and the ability to work collaboratively with project teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in project safety planning and ensure a culture of compliance through training, toolbox talks, and communication with Safety Representatives.
  • Support the preparation of estimates, schedules, work plans, daily logs, and other project documentation.
  • Pre-plan crew activities, fulfill daily task plan requirements, complete look-ahead schedules, and provide updates to project superintendents.
  • Manage subcontractor scope of work, coordinate with internal project support functions, and control costs by evaluating and improving processes.
  • Participate in project QA/QC planning, ensure quality for assigned tasks, and assist with the development and maintenance of project crew schedules.
  • Provide analysis for MOC Materials and Other Costs and equipment on project sites, and support training and mentoring less experienced project team members.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of construction experience.
  • Ability to perform work accurately and completely, and in a timely manner.
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Knowledge of organizational structure and available resources.
  • Knowledge of Lean process and philosophy.
  • Ability to apply fundamentals of the means and methods of construction management.
  • Knowledge of self-perform and labor productivity.
  • Ability to assess and optimize project productivity.
  • Knowledge of specific trades and scopes of work.
  • Ability to build relationships and collaborate within a team, internally and externally.
Working Environment

Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds. May require periods of travel and/or relocation. Must be willing to work non-traditional hours to meet project needs. May be exposed to extreme conditions (hot or cold).

Frequent activity: Standing, Walking, Climbing, Bending, Reaching above Shoulder, Pushing, Pulling. Occasional activity: Sitting, Viewing Computer Screen.
