About the RoleWe are seeking a skilled and compassionate Maternity Resource Pool Nurse to join our Clinical Staffing team. As a key member of our Internal Resource Team, you will provide support and additional resources to maternity nursing units throughout our health system.
Responsibilities- Provide and coordinate nursing care to patients utilizing the nursing process.
- Complete documentation to assure an accurate record of patient's care.
- Utilize critical thinking in making independent judgments, and maintain responsibility for the knowledge of conditions of assigned patients.
- Collaborate with physicians and other professionals in planning and implementing care within hospital policy and legal limitations.
- Assess needs of patients and families, provide appropriate teaching to facilitate discharge planning, and make the necessary referrals to community agencies to provide continuity of care.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A graduate degree in nursing from an accredited school of nursing or IA Board of Nursing approved nursing program.
- A current active Iowa License to practice as a RN.
- One year Maternity/OB experience preferred, but not required.
- A minimum of six months RN experience.
