GENERAL SUMMARY & SCOPE:
The Hair Care Specialist plays a vital role in engaging with clients, assessing their hair care needs, and recommending suitable products and services. This position emphasizes delivering high-quality professional services while enhancing the client's overall appearance.
The Specialist collaborates with the Experience Manager (EM) and the Assistant Services Manager (ASM) to focus on performance metrics (service sales and productivity), guest relations, and adherence to operational standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Hair Care Specialist embodies Ulta Beauty's mission, vision, and values through the following duties:
Performance:
- Provide a range of hair services, including haircuts, coloring, treatments, styling, and makeup applications.
- Achieve or surpass an average weekly sales target of $800 while contributing to overall store goals related to service sales and guest loyalty.
- Demonstrate business acumen by identifying growth opportunities and understanding business drivers.
- Conduct product demonstrations to enhance guest experiences and drive sales.
- Support in-store events and promotions that elevate the guest experience.
- Stay informed about industry trends and product knowledge to better assist clients.
Guest Relations:
- Build strong relationships with clients through personalized consultations and service recommendations.
- Uphold high standards of customer service and salon presentation.
- Serve all clients, including walk-ins, efficiently and courteously.
- Collaborate with skin therapists and retail teams to provide a comprehensive guest experience.
- Promote the benefits of the guest loyalty program and the Ulta Beauty app.
- Participate in mandatory training sessions for ongoing professional development.
Operational Standards:
- Ensure compliance with Ulta Beauty policies and state regulations.
- Follow safety and sanitation protocols during all services.
- Utilize booking systems effectively to manage client appointments.
- Communicate supply needs to maintain readiness for guest services.
- Maintain cleanliness and operational standards throughout the salon and store.
- Adhere to the company dress code and loss prevention practices.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must possess a valid cosmetology license.
- Previous salon experience is preferred.
SKILLS:
- Proficient in modern salon techniques for hair services and makeup applications.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Ability to establish and maintain strong client relationships.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Frequent mobility and the ability to lift up to 10 lbs.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform various physical tasks.
COMPENSATION:
The pay range for this position is a minimum of $21.70 per hour or service pay based on the Company's Services Compensation Plan. Actual pay will be determined by factors such as education, experience, and location.
