Overview: The Staff Chaplain at Akron Children's plays a vital role in delivering spiritual and emotional care to patients, families, and healthcare professionals from diverse faith backgrounds.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Offer spiritual and emotional guidance to patients, families, and staff members
  • Facilitate interfaith prayer and worship sessions
  • Conduct spiritual evaluations and create individualized care plans
  • Educate on the spiritual requirements of children and their families
  • Engage in committees and research focused on spiritual care
  • Uphold professional standards and integrity
  • Perform additional duties as necessary

Qualifications:

  • Experience in providing spiritual care across all age demographics
  • Background in healthcare is preferred
  • Familiarity with MS Office or equivalent software
  • Master of Divinity degree or equivalent qualification
  • Certification from a recognized National Chaplaincy organization
  • 0 to 2 years of relevant experience is preferred
