Amentum is seeking a highly skilled Architectural Design Specialist to join our team in Englewood, CO. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for performing basic architectural/engineering calculations, preparing specifications, reports, and related data tables. You will also maintain liaison with design and drafting groups, preparing, reviewing, and approving drawings as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop new or existing structures, primarily on federal government sites, nuclear facilities, and other structural properties.
  • Select, evaluate, and implement architectural procedures and techniques used to complete projects.
  • Prepare proposals, presentations, and reports for clients regarding safety standards, design expectations, project specifications, and compliance with government regulations.
  • Ensure successful design by producing scale or technical drawings, blueprints, and architectural models using computer-aided design (CAD) and other tools.
  • Under the direction of the Supervising Architect, maintain project coordination with all other disciplines on an assigned project.
  • Provide Supervising Architect status of assignment(s) with respect to schedule, budgets, delays, and adverse problems.
  • Supervise, assign work, set work priorities, evaluate, and train technical and architectural personnel.
  • Provide technical assistance and guidance to technical and architectural personnel.
  • Continually upgrade technical knowledge and capabilities.
  • Assure quality, quantity, and completeness of the architectural/engineering work required.
  • Plan and schedule architectural/engineering efforts associated with assigned projects.
  • Maintain timeliness and accuracy of oral and written technical reports regarding assigned activities.
  • Maintain proper architectural/engineering files and records.
  • Under the direction of the Supervising Architect, may independently perform advanced technical assignments of various complexities within approved schedules and budgets.
  • May coordinate technical and administrative activities with employees in other disciplines and other departments participating on an assigned project.
  • May assist in the training and evaluation of assigned architectural and design/drafting personnel.
  • Perform other architectural/engineering-related work as required.
  • Prepare plans and detail drawings working from sketches or Engineers' notes.
  • Develop 3-D and solid CAD/CAE models to assist in the development of equipment arrangement drawings.

Requirements:

  • US Citizen
  • Education: Bachelor of science or arts degree in Architecture from an accredited college or university or demonstrated equivalent education.
  • Experience: 7+ years of architectural experience.
  • Must be a Registered Architect in a home state.
  • Good oral and written communication skills; working knowledge of word-processing and integrated software applications; organizational skills and ability to perform detail-oriented work are required.
  • Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.
  • Position may require travel.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Government or nuclear experience, i.e., DOD, DOE, NR.
  • Masters degree in Architecture from an accredited college or university.
  • Working knowledge of Revit.
  • Working knowledge of regulatory codes and standards.
  • Working knowledge of the design of nuclear or heavy industrial facilities.
  • Ability to prepare various specifications, calculations, and drawings.

Compensation & Benefits:

Amentum offers a competitive benefits package and a hiring salary range of $82K - $126K annually, determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
