Job Summary

The Care Coordinator is a vital member of our team, responsible for compassionately helping clients and individuals and their families with the insurance and billing complexities that arise when diagnosed with complex illnesses, recovering from a traumatic medical event, and/or providing general client support. This role administratively supports the team and assists clients and individuals and their families in insurance navigation of benefits, billing related issues, claims inquiries, general customer service assistance and addresses issues that impact quality of life and outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • General care coordination duties including: locating plan friendly providers or facilities, preventing and/or resolving delay in care by educating providers/facilities on insurance, confirming the deployment and receipt of ancillary services such as home health, DME, radiology, and community based social services, aiding and resolves issues regarding claims, billing, and payment of healthcare services, educating clients and individuals and their families on benefits plans including items such as: deductibles, in/out of network inquiries, and estimation of benefits (EOB's), and plan types.
  • Provides an excellent experience through direct communication, calls external facilities and providers to execute on care plan issues for clients and individuals and their families, makes outbound client calls to coordinate individual needs, assists with locating community resources for clients and individuals and their families, assists team with faxing, documentation, and telephone support.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, High school diploma, TN Life and Health License (obtain within 90 days of employment), Proficient with Microsoft Office, A minimum of two (2) years of related experience or equivalent, preferably in a physician office or medical provider, Experience in employee benefits industry preferred, Previous experience in medical claims or billing preferred.
