Job Summary

The Registered Nurse Women's & Children's Pavilion is a key member of our healthcare team, providing direct nursing care to patients and assuming teaching and leadership responsibilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provides direct nursing care to patients, prioritizing assessments and interventions based on patient needs.
  • Develops and implements individualized plans of care, utilizing standards of nursing care and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Delegates patient care to other team members within their scope of practice, ensuring effective communication and coordination.
  • Participates in unit committee and quality improvement activities, contributing to the development of policies and procedures.
  • Maintains accurate and detailed records of patient care, utilizing electronic medical records and other documentation tools.
  • Provides education and support to patients and families, promoting health literacy and self-management skills.
  • Collaborates with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care transitions and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Stays current with best practices and evidence-based guidelines, participating in ongoing education and professional development opportunities.
Requirements
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the State of Florida.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
  • Intermediate computer knowledge, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Windows.
  • Specialized certifications and training may be required for specific areas of practice, such as NICU, Labor and Delivery, or Pediatrics.
