Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Regional Operations Manager is tasked with overseeing the planning, execution, assessment, supervision, and coordination of the overall operations of designated physician practices, as well as managing specific projects related to practice management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership Excellence: Assess the performance of assigned practices and ensure accountability among managers for operational outcomes. Participate in the recruitment of physicians and staff while developing new practice locations. Strategically plan the effective utilization of physical, financial, and human resources in designated areas, establishing clear objectives aligned with departmental and organizational goals.
  • Strategic Development: Engage in long-term planning initiatives to ensure departmental success. Contribute innovative ideas to foster growth, profitability, and improvements in team member and patient satisfaction, as well as quality initiatives.
  • Financial Oversight: Formulate, implement, and monitor annual budgets for assigned practices. Regularly review variances and adjust operations to meet financial objectives. Conduct comprehensive practice reviews, including detailed evaluations of profit and loss statements, incentive programs, and physician productivity. Collaborate with the Director of Revenue Cycle Services to synchronize billing activities and enforce billing policies across practices.
  • Operational Management: Develop, revise, and implement policies and procedures for practice management. Ensure that policies and procedures are established to maximize the ability to achieve objectives and maintain consistency in operations. Direct and oversee the daily operational activities of assigned practices, ensuring compliance with established policies and protocols.
  • Human Resources Leadership: Oversee the recruitment, development, and supervision of practice leaders and team members. Provide coaching, counseling, and performance evaluations for practice managers, managing any necessary disciplinary actions. Foster effective relationships with providers to ensure compliance with contractual obligations, while maintaining strong connections with key stakeholders through open communication.
  • Continuous Improvement: Demonstrate leadership and commitment to ongoing quality enhancement in safety and patient experience.
  • Patient and Team Engagement: Oversee team member interactions with patients and visitors, addressing potential satisfaction issues. Implement a proactive approach to improving patient satisfaction with measurable outcomes, providing regular updates to the Director of Operations. Cultivate an environment that promotes trust and engagement among team members, collaborating with managers to enhance engagement levels.
  • Technology Integration: Collaborate with the EMR project manager to facilitate practice transitions to electronic medical records and assist with implementation efforts.
  • Professional Growth: Pursue personal career advancement through active participation in professional organizations and networking with peers. Maintain membership in relevant associations and stay informed about industry trends. Support the career development of practice managers through mentorship and guidance.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Undertake other duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 4-year Bachelor's Degree (preferably in Business Management or a related health field) or eight years of experience in a medical office setting.
  • 5+ years of experience in managing multiple medical practices within a larger healthcare system.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including Word and Excel.
  • Willingness to travel to various practice locations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Business Management or a related health field.
