Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Management Analyst to join our team at the Veterans Affairs, National Cemetery Administration. As a key member of our staff, you will play a critical role in advising and assisting on sensitive and serious issues related to the operation of our Western New York National Cemetery and three satellite cemeteries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on cemetery operations, regulations, and policies to military personnel, clergy, civic representatives, funeral directors, VSOs, and the general public.
  • Maintain personal and telephone contact with stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination.
  • Perform public outreach and education as needed to promote awareness of cemetery services and regulations.
  • Work closely with staff to ensure compliance with cemetery regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the effective operation of the cemetery.
Requirements

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all specialized experience and time in grade requirements within 45 days of the closing date of this announcement. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials.

Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.

Applicants must have 1 full year of graduate level education or superior academic achievement, or a Bachelor's degree with Superior Academic Achievement.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., spiritual; community; student; Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities.

Work is performed both in the office and field setting with exposure to outside weather conditions.
