About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Law Librarian to join our team at InsideHigherEd. As a key member of our library staff, you will play a critical role in providing research support, instructional services, and collection development to our law students, faculty, and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert research assistance to law students, faculty, and staff, including in-depth research guidance and instruction on legal research methods and sources.
  • Teach law students in the Basic Legal Research program, a required first-year course that introduces students to the fundamentals of legal research.
  • Support law faculty members in their research endeavors, including providing research assistance and guidance on using library resources and services.
  • Develop and maintain online research guides, tutorials, and other instructional materials to support law students and faculty.
  • Stay current with new developments in law librarianship, including emerging trends and technologies, and apply this knowledge to improve library services and collections.
  • Serve on library and university committees to promote the library's mission and goals.
Requirements
  • J.D. degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • MLS (or equivalent) from an ALA-accredited institution.
  • At least three years of experience working in research and reference services in a law library.
  • Demonstrated experience teaching law students and partnering with law faculty on research projects.
  • Experience with faculty scholarship platforms such as SSRN and BePress Digital Commons.
