Key Responsibilities:- Bake and Decorate: Prepare pastry items according to pre-established recipes and decorate them in a consistent style to meet our high standards of quality and presentation.
- Food Preparation and Presentation: Follow plating and display standards to ensure that all pastry items are presented in an appealing and appetizing manner.
- Inventory Management: Maintain an accurate inventory of prepped ingredients and supplies to ensure that we have the necessary materials to meet our production needs.
- Sanitation and Safety: Properly label and store ingredients, and maintain a clean and organized kitchen area to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
- Experience: 2 years of experience as a Pastry Cook or in a similar role in a high-end bakery or restaurant.
- Education: Culinary school diploma or equivalent experience preferred.
- Skills:
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
- Pastry-making experience.
- Basic math skills.
- Attention to detail.
- A flexible schedule.
- Certifications: Food handler's permit or similar certification as required by local regulations.
- Ability to work a 12-hour shift, 5 days per week in hot, noisy, and sometimes close conditions.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy items as needed.
- Manual dexterity to perform intricate decorating tasks.
- Must be able to lift and carry at least 30 pounds.
- Must have color vision and depth perception for food preparation and food presentation.
- It is necessary to have ability to communicate within kitchen.
- Occasionally required climbing stairs.
- This position requires working in a kitchen environment, which may involve exposure to heat, noise, and various kitchen equipment.
