Responsibilities:
* Champion safety and lead by example, prioritizing the well-being of yourself and others in accordance with OSHA and Vulcan standards.
* Develop and enforce safety and environmental programs, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
* Provide leadership, direction, and development to all operators, fostering a culture of excellence and teamwork.
* Update records and prepare reports, maintaining accurate and timely documentation.
* Organize and plan production, directing incoming product receipts, inter-plant disposition, product blending, transfers, and shipments.
* Train and develop team members, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
* Ensure product quality, maintaining a working knowledge of all tests and product specification requirements.
* Manage customer relations, developing and maintaining strong relationships with customers, transportation representatives, and agency personnel.
* Monitor processes and materials, managing cost control and local purchasing of equipment, raw materials, and supplies.
Requirements:
* Minimum 5 years' prior experience with asphalt terminal operations and product receipts by rail and truck or alternately within a chemical processing environment.
* Bachelor's Degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, or Business preferred.
* Proven track record of operations leadership, team building, and personnel development.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize and make effective decisions.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with suppliers, peers, customers, and agency personnel.
* Valid Driver's license required.
