Terminal Operations Manager

As a Terminal Distribution Manager at Vulcan Materials Company, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the liquid asphalt terminal, ensuring safety, quality, and compliance with regulatory requirements. This role requires strong leadership and management skills, as well as the ability to prioritize tasks and make effective decisions.
Key Responsibilities- Champion safety and ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
- Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements and ensure accurate documentation and reporting.
- Lead and develop a team of operators, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Update records and prepare reports, ensuring accurate and timely information.
- Organize and plan production, directing incoming product receipts, inter-plant disposition, product blending, transfers, and shipments.
- Train and develop employees, maintaining a hands-on working knowledge of operational manufacturing processes and equipment.
- Ensure product quality, maintaining a working knowledge of tests and product specification requirements.
- Manage customer relations, overseeing and developing relationships with customers, transportation representatives, and agency personnel.
- Monitor processes and materials, managing cost control and local purchasing of equipment, raw materials, and supplies.
- Minimum 5 years' prior experience with asphalt terminal operations and product receipts by rail and truck or alternately within a chemical processing environment.
- Bachelor's Degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, or Business preferred.
- Proven track record of operations leadership, team building, and personnel development.
- Regulatory knowledge and understanding of OSHA, RAIL, and DOT rules and regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with suppliers, peers, customers, and agency personnel.
- Solid technical and analytical skills, mechanical skills, and problem-solving ability.
- Strong recordkeeping and organization skills, with attention to detail.
- Competency at prioritizing, making effective decisions, and implementing change.
- Valid Driver's license required.
