Electrical Design Specialist Job Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Specialist to join our team in Merritt Island, Florida.

About the Role

This position involves working as part of a multi-discipline design team on aerospace projects, focusing on electrical system designs. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing medium voltage and low voltage electrical power distribution systems, standby power generation and distribution systems, and building systems including grounding and bonding systems, lightning protection systems, and telecommunications/data systems.

The role requires performing electrical engineering analyses such as cable tray fill and wire ampacity calculations, feeder and branch circuit sizing calculations, conduit fill, short circuit, protective device coordination analyses, load flow (voltage drop), demand load, arc flash and other such analyses.

The ideal candidate will have advanced knowledge of components and materials, including material compatibility, and the ability to develop block diagrams, cable interconnect diagrams, ground integrated schematics, advance electrical schematics, bill of materials, wire running lists, and build-to-print assembly drawings of control/monitoring panels, Remote Input/Output (RIO) enclosures, Human Machine Interface (HMI) panels and control pendants.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university or equivalent
  • Minimum of 7 years of related experience
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit
  • Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
