Environmental Specialist Lead for Remediation Projects

Tetra Tech is seeking a seasoned Environmental Scientist with a strong background in environmental remediation projects to lead our team as a technical author. This position requires expertise in preparing complex technical documents under federal and state regulatory authorities. A hybrid or remote working environment is available for suitable candidates, and U.S. citizenship is mandatory due to the nature of the projects.

As an Environmental Specialist Lead, you will work closely with industry-leading experts and be part of a collaborative environment that fosters growth and development.
This role involves:
- Preparing environmental reports and interim updates for client and regulatory review, including data interpretation and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Interpreting project environmental reporting needs and developing required activities for environmental reporting development.
- Coordinating with the Project Manager and technical staff to support environmental reporting preparation.
You will be responsible for leading the preparation of complex technical documents, providing technical guidance, and mentoring junior project staff. A minimum of 8 years of experience in environmental restoration consulting, including a strong background in environmental site characterization and remediation, is required. Experience with assessment and cleanup governed by CERCLA and RCRA on Federal projects is also necessary.
A Bachelor's degree in geology, engineering, science, or a related field is required, and an Advanced degree is preferred. Professional registration, such as PE or PG, and 40-Hour OSHA HAZWOPER training, are highly valued. Prior experience with DoD and/or NASA projects is desirable, as well as excellent technical analytical skills, and demonstrated technical writing and verbal communications skills.
This position offers a competitive salary range of $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience, and a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement savings, and paid time off.
