Job Summary: The residential HVAC field manager will supervise subcontractors and/or employees installing residential HVAC equipment and accessories. Ensuring work meets builder needs and conducting quality-control checks on completed work are key responsibilities. As needed due to staffing and customer demands, this role may perform service, maintenance, and installation work under the direction of the General Manager or Production Manager.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of sub-contractor craftsmen (installers and helpers) to manage installations effectively.
  • Regularly inspect job sites to ensure readiness for both HVAC rough-in and HVAC trim installations.
  • Coordinate installation dates with the scheduling team and confirm jobs are ready for installation.
  • Verify work completion by phase to ensure timely delivery.
  • Ensure schedule compliance with assigned work by Subcontractor installation crews.
  • Collaborate with sub-contractors and the office regarding punch lists or repairs as needed.
  • Review sub-contractor invoices after work completion per phase.
  • Maintain positive relationships with builder superintendents through regular site meetings.
  • Address production-related issues with homebuilders in the assigned area of responsibility.
  • Build rapport and foster long-term relationships with internal and external customers.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in HVAC installation.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Proven track record of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Beg/Intermediate computer skills and ability to use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Ability to work overtime with little notice; weekend hours may occasionally be required.

Estimated Salary: $85,000 - $110,000 per annum, based on location and experience.

Working Conditions:

  • Majority of time spent in a field environment (hot attics, crawl spaces, uneven terrain, construction sites, and finished homes).
  • Travel by vehicle to and from work locations.
  • Regularly exposed to construction environments involving equipment, elevated work areas, confined spaces, noise, dust, hazardous materials, and odors.
  • Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors, exposed to all weather conditions (including heat, rain, cold, and wind) while wearing appropriate PPE.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to drive and operate a motorized passenger vehicle or forklift.
  • Must be able to lift/move up to 50 pounds frequently.
  • Frequently performs tasks requiring climbing, bending at the waist, crawling, kneeling, crouching.
  • Must be able to work at heights, climb ladders, and stairways, and occasionally work on platforms/scaffolding (using the appropriate fall protection requirements).
  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to hard hat, safety glasses, ear plugs, masks/respirators, reflective safety vests, gloves, and safety toe, construction-grade work boots.
  • Must be able to adhere to long periods of standing, walking, or sitting.
  • Ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and/or other sounds to operate phones or other equipment safely.
  • With natural or corrected vision, able to see and focus for close, distance, peripheral vision with normal depth perception.
  • Ability to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word to impart oral information to others.
  • Ability to enter text or data into a computer by means of a traditional keyboard or 10-key numeric keypad.
  • Must be able to use arms and hands to reach overhead, signal, grab, hold, lift, turn, push, and pull objects and tools.
