Job Summary

The Commercial Business Development Lead will spearhead our commercial traction with private sector customers. This role requires a highly skilled individual to identify, pursue, and close deals for high-performance ceramic components, driving revenue growth and strategic partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Customer Engagement: Interact directly with customers to understand their technical needs, leveraging expert-level communication skills to build strong relationships.">
  • Market Expertise: Develop in-depth knowledge of space, defense, and energy industries, staying up-to-date on market trends and customer buying behaviors.">
  • Revenue Growth: Define and achieve revenue targets in coordination with Canopy's product team, working closely with engineers to design and sell technical solutions.">
  • Pipeline Management: Manage an established business development pipeline, reporting to senior executives on metrics and challenges.">

  • Tech Savviness: Undergraduate degree in engineering or science, or equivalent experience in industry, with a proven track record in B2B sales/business development for hardware products.">
  • Industry Knowledge: Experience conducting market research, building customer lists, and negotiating complex partnership agreements.">
  • Communication Skills: Expert-level email, phone, in-person, graphics design, and MS Office suite proficiency.">
  • Entrepreneurial Spirit: Ability to work proactively, wearing multiple hats, and embracing extended hours/weekends as needed.">
