Position Overview: The Senior Fraud Detection Specialist is responsible for utilizing various systems and tools to investigate and analyze intricate alerts related to potential fraudulent activities. This role requires adherence to established protocols and the ability to identify and escalate issues with urgency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage complex customer inquiries regarding suspected fraudulent activities.
- Make informed decisions based on extensive experience, research, and established guidelines.
- Conduct outbound communications and take necessary actions based on transaction anomalies.
- Identify and report trends or patterns associated with fraud claims.
- Utilize financial crime risk management software to monitor and prevent fraudulent activities.
- Maintain accurate records of fraudulent accounts with appropriate warnings.
- Examine consumer and business accounts, including transaction histories, for investigative purposes.
- Respond to inquiries related to fraud activities in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with law enforcement on criminal investigations and legal proceedings.
- Investigate and process Affidavits of Forgery for check fraud cases.
- Assist in the oversight of Mobile Deposit Capture items.
- Review ATM imaging software for signs of fraud.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA).
- Foster a supportive and respectful environment for both customers and colleagues.
- Safeguard the confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Engage in ongoing professional development through training and industry associations.
- Provide backup support for ATM management duties.
- Perform additional operational tasks as required.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in fraud detection or related fields.
- Familiarity with financial fraud regulations and compliance standards.
Skills and Competencies:
- Proficient in English with strong communication skills.
- Ability to apply logical reasoning to solve problems.
- Competent in using database, spreadsheet, and word processing software.
Work Environment:
