Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Clinical Nursing Assistant to join our team in the Cardiac Stepdown Unit. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to patients undergoing cardiothoracic surgery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Under the supervision of a Registered Professional Nurse, perform various service duties and technical tasks, including taking vital signs and assisting patients with basic hygiene and activities of daily living.
  • Consider the special needs and behaviors of specific patient populations, providing individualized care and support.
  • Participate in continuing education relative to the role, staying up-to-date on the latest developments in cardiothoracic nursing.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care and support.
Requirements
  • Certification as a Nursing Assistant by the State of Maine and registration on the State of Maine Registry.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English to follow oral or written instructions and complete standard forms.
  • Ability to perform simple arithmetic calculations and maintain accurate records.
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to exchange information and maintain courteous relationships with patients, families, visitors, and healthcare team members.
