About the Role

We are seeking a skilled MRI Technologist to join our team at University of Minnesota Medical Center West Bank/Masonic Children's Hospital. As an MRI Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services to pediatric and adult patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and prioritize work to achieve optimal patient outcomes
  • Perform individualized, compassionate patient care
  • Perform high-quality examinations
  • Identify relevant data from images accurately
  • Communicate pertinent data clearly to the appropriate healthcare professional
  • Participate in creating a culture of patient safety
  • Verify patient identification and documentation
  • Communicate with and educate patients regarding pertinent information during all aspects of the exam
  • Achieve quality diagnostic images through correct patient positioning and use of technical factors according to protocol
  • Apply established professional guidelines and standards to complex, routine, and non-routine diagnostic testing procedures
  • Ensure patient data integrity
  • Adhere to radiologic safety guidelines and diagnostic testing protocols/procedures
  • Accurately document in compliance with regulatory agency requirements, completes computer functions, edits, scheduling, and billing status changes
  • Follow infection control guidelines
  • Serve as a resource for other healthcare team members
  • Respond appropriately to emergent situations
  • Accurate image marking and digital image manipulation and archiving
  • Assess the validity of the test results to determine if consistent with changing physiological conditions or if due to possible interfering substances
  • Act as a resource for problem-solving resolution
  • Completed all required continuing education to uphold their imaging licensure
  • Participate as an active team member
  • Participate in department/facility process/quality improvement initiatives
  • Responsible for personal and professional development to ensure current knowledge required for position
  • Clean and maintain room and supplies
  • Provide integrated services with customers and care partners to ensure high-quality care
Requirements
  • Current Registration with American Registry Radiologic Technology (ARRT)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) - from American Red Cross or American Heart Association
  • Meet MRI Safety Screen requirements
  • Preferred qualifications: Prior MRI Experience (1+ years), ARRT MRI certification or successful completion within 18 months of hire, Experience with Epic/Radiant, Understanding of current ACR Guidelines for MRI Safety, Knowledge of MRI quality control and safety standards

We are open to candidates without prior MRI experience who are highly motivated to train on the job to become a certified MRI Technologist.
