POSITION SUMMARY

Tarkett is on the lookout for a dedicated Plant Accountant to become an integral part of our thriving organization. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Campus Controller to oversee the daily functions of the accounting division for our Chagrin and Middlefield facilities. The Plant Accountant will engage with accounting, production, and management teams to ensure precise and timely financial reporting and analysis. This position reports directly to the Assistant Controller.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Monitor and document monthly capital expenditures
  • Coordinate with plant operations regarding the status and execution of capital projects
  • Update and oversee the CAPEX system for cash flow tracking by project
  • Conduct periodic fixed asset audits
  • Assist in monthly inventory counts and annual physical stock assessments
  • Track fixed asset acquisitions, disposals, and transfers
  • Prepare monthly journal entries, analyses, and account reconciliations while supporting the monthly closing process
  • Assist in monthly forecasting and the annual budgeting process for the plant
  • Support the annual WCM Cost Deployment initiative
  • Perform ad hoc reporting as necessary
  • Engage in additional projects as assigned by the Assistant Controller
REQUIREMENTS (including educational requirements)
  • 0-2 years of relevant experience, preferably in a manufacturing setting
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
  • Familiarity with SAP is advantageous
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities
  • Proactive in understanding the business
  • Capable of interacting with employees across various skill levels
  • Strong team-oriented mindset
  • Excellent communication and listening abilities
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Willingness to pursue professional growth
