As a Dishwasher / Porter, your primary responsibility will be to ensure a seamless flow of clean service ware, pots, and pans throughout the kitchen and dining area, while maintaining a tidy and efficient workspace.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with guests and colleagues in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Set up and dismantle the dishwashing machine as needed.
  • Efficiently wash all tableware, silverware, pots, and pans.
  • Keep the dishwashing area and stainless steel surfaces clean and dry.
  • Monitor the dishwashing machine for appropriate water temperatures and chemical levels.
  • Ensure all items are clean; rewash as necessary.
  • Properly store all clean dishware, glassware, silverware, and small wares throughout the kitchen and restaurant.
  • Regularly check and empty soiled linen, trash, and recycling containers to maintain kitchen cleanliness.
  • Uphold a clean and safe kitchen environment.
  • Maintain clean and dry floors, and organize the walk-in, dry storage, and freezer areas regularly.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including maintaining a current Food Handler's Certification.
  • Follow all restaurant policies as directed by the Chef de Cuisine and management team.
  • Safely operate and maintain all kitchen equipment and tools.
  • Report any equipment issues to the supervisor promptly.
  • Arrive punctually for scheduled shifts, dressed in the appropriate uniform.
  • Follow proper storage and rotation procedures, along with sanitation guidelines.
  • Collaborate effectively with coworkers and management in a friendly and enthusiastic manner.
  • Respond promptly to requests from other kitchen staff.
  • Assemble and dismantle workstations efficiently.
  • Maintain cleanliness of your station throughout the shift.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Capable of lifting a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Proficient in using knives and other necessary kitchen equipment.
  • Maintain a current Food Handler's Certification and adhere to proper sanitation practices.
