Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified Anatomy and Physiology Instructor to teach massage therapy students at Helena College University of Montana. The successful candidate will have a thorough understanding of the body systems, a current and valid license to practice massage therapy, and 2-3 years' experience in the field.

Key Responsibilities
  • Instruct massage therapy students using specific outlined curriculum provided by Helena College.
  • Assess student progress through provided evaluations, exams, and practical assessments, providing constructive feedback and grades in a timely manner.
  • Record grades, attendance, and other relevant information in accordance with established deadlines.
  • Adhere to curriculum expectations and outcomes.
  • Advise students in a professional manner offering constructive and encouraging feedback.
  • Identify and address individual learning needs and support students who may require it.
  • Demonstrate and model proper techniques, safety practices, and ethical standards.
  • Foster a positive learning environment that values safety.
  • Manage students in the classroom and lab settings.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment.
  • Work collaboratively with administrative staff and other instructors.
  • Attend program meetings and professional development activities.
  • Comply with all applicable college, state, and federal rules and regulations.
Requirements
  • A thorough understanding of the body systems with an emphasis in the muscular system, nervous system, cardiovascular system, and fascial system.
  • A current and valid license to practice massage therapy, chiropractic care, acupuncture, physical therapy or physical therapy assistant, or nursing.
  • 2-3 years' experience in the field of your license with current and valid professional liability insurance.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Technologically proficient and the ability to learn new programs.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism, hygiene, and ethical practices.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior teaching experience or training is preferred but not required.
  • Sound understanding of federal and state massage therapy laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures related to licensing.
