Job Summary:

As a P&D Driver with Roadrunner Freight, you will be responsible for safely transporting freight across the country. This role requires a valid Class A or B CDL license and a Hazmat endorsement. You will be expected to maintain a clean and safe driving record, follow DOT regulations, and complete required paperwork and logs. Additionally, you will be responsible for loading and unloading freight, managing routes, and ensuring timely delivery. Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive a tractor/trailer or straight truck to transport freight safely and efficiently.
  • Load and unload freight, following proper procedures and safety protocols.
  • Complete required paperwork and logs, including shipping papers and hazardous materials documents.
  • Manage routes and schedules to ensure timely delivery.
  • Maintain a clean and safe driving record, adhering to DOT regulations.
Requirements:
  • Valid Class A or B CDL license.
  • Hazmat endorsement or ability to obtain within 45 days of hire.
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations and safe driving practices.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Minimum of 6 months of commercial truck driving experience.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
  • Ability to climb into and out of truck cab safely.
  • Meet or exceed medical standards of the United States' Department of Transportation (DOT).
  • Ability to lift 75 lbs.
  • Ability to maneuver a fully loaded pallet jack up to 2500 lbs.
  • Bending, stooping, reaching, manual dexterity to hook up air lines, lights, hoses, and operate valves.
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time.
Work Environment:
  • Frequently exposed to moving vehicles, outside weather conditions, and vibrations.
  • Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, high precarious places, and extreme temperatures.
