Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Radar/EW/EO/IR System Engineer to join our team at Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL). As a critical technical leader, you will play a key role in fielding next-generation Navy Radar/EO/IR and Electronic Warfare systems and land-based sensor networks.

In this challenging position, you will have the opportunity to work with a talented team of radar engineers and scientists to develop and deploy cutting-edge sensor systems. You will be responsible for analyzing live tactical sensor data, identifying and solving problems that impact mission requirements, and collaborating with teams to design and implement innovative solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Creatively apply technical skills to identify and solve complex problems.
  • Lead and collaborate with teams of sensor engineers, software developers, combat system engineers, and physicists.
  • Develop and implement novel algorithms using signal and data processing tools, including machine learning.
  • Investigate and address problems due to emergent phenomenology.
  • Advise and guide the strategic direction of analysis capabilities for our group and the programs it supports.
