Lead Electrical Estimator

Position Overview: We are seeking a Senior Electrical Cost Analyst with a strong background in commercial electrical projects. This role is a direct hire opportunity with SST Direct, offering a comprehensive benefits package including paid time off, medical, dental, and retirement plans.
Compensation: The salary range for this position is between $100,000 - $120,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in pre-bid meetings to fully grasp the scope of work.
- Conduct site visits for inspections and discussions.
- Thoroughly review all bidding documents associated with projects.
- Identify and communicate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain quotes for outsourced electrical tasks.
- Utilize computerized estimating tools to perform detailed takeoffs and meet project deadlines.
- Prepare estimates for change orders on awarded contracts.
- Ensure timely completion of estimates and engage in team reviews on bid submission days.
- Assess subcontractor bids for completeness, compliance with specifications, and adherence to timelines.
- Prepare value analyses that prioritize the client's interests.
- Draft detailed narratives outlining the scope of work.
- Support field operations with estimates post-bid award and during project closeout.
- Generate proposal letters that clearly outline the scope of work, inclusions, exclusions, and clarifications.
- Adhere to proposal submission deadlines.
- Proactively manage the estimation process even with limited information.
- Maintain consistent communication for feedback on bids and report outcomes to management.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and safety standards, reporting any discrepancies to the Chief Estimator.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline; or equivalent technical training and work experience.
- A minimum of five years of experience in commercial electrical construction and conceptual estimating.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and electronic takeoff software.
- Experience with Accubid or similar estimating software; familiarity with McCormick is preferred.
