Lead Echo Vascular Technologist

The Lead Echo Vascular Technologist plays a crucial role in the Cardiology department at St. David's Medical Center, leading activities and ensuring exceptional patient care. This position requires a strong background in non-invasive cardiovascular procedures, including adult and pediatric echocardiography and vascular studies.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with healthcare team members to facilitate efficient diagnostic studies and promote optimal unit operations.
- Utilize open communication to interact with physicians, patients, and other health team members.
- Make decisions that reflect knowledge and good judgment, handling confidential patient information.
- Demonstrate expertise in arrhythmia interpretation and perform complete 2-dimensional, color flow, and Spectral Doppler exams according to protocol.
- Notify physicians of positive findings and provide preliminary measurements and interpretations of examinations.
- Assist in scheduling patients, work in additional patients, and make scheduling aware of cancellations or optimize examination availability.
- Review and revise lab protocol to maintain efficiency, recommending changes to the supervisor.
- Attend required staff meetings and conferences, reviewing performance and ensuring compliance with accreditation, legal, and regulatory requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned by direct report, serving as a clinical resource role model for staff and physicians.
- Coordinate orientation for new staff and techs, assist in completing 90-day evaluations, and coordinate daily assignments/procedures to ensure optimal operations.
- Provide constructive feedback to staff related to job performance and manage projects as requested.
- Associate Degree in Diagnostic Ultrasound or certificate of completion from an accredited school of Echo Ultrasound.
- 3-7 years of experience in Echo Ultrasound, with experience in Pedi/Adult echo and vascular studies.
- Current Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) with American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) with Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
- Current Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) with American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Registered Vascular Sonographer (RVS) with Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
